A Portrait of a Woman was born with the desire to work on faces. I began painting her without thinking of gender, but with time, she made her appearance. I have been painting faces for a little while now and it is an incredibly hard subject to render. I feel as though I am an amateur, but the lack of knowledge I believe allows me to be a bit more creative and paint outside the box, without parameters.
I wanted to create an abstract woman of the past, with the female struggles of our history existing within her eyes, cast with her gaze, in her posture, what is she thinking? Can you relate?
